I got a bachelors in industrial distribution and a minor in business administration. As graduation approached, there was a lot of pressure and I was nervous about trying to find a job. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with my major. I knew I would probably end up in some type of sales. I always worked in some type of sales growing up, whether it was waiting tables or at a bank. I like to think of myself as a people person, and that’s really what this business is. It’s about the people.
I actually took the interview here as a practice interview. I had already interviewed with 20-25 other companies and had a few offers on the table. There were a few oil companies in Houston that coordinated with my major a little more than the car business seemed to, so I really did it for the practice. Once I did the interview and met Ben, the owner of the company, it made me really think about things a lot more and put a kink in my plans.
It’s not often you actually interview with the actual owner of the company. It’s the only time it’s ever happened to me in an interview. That really stood out to me. The other partners are really down-to-earth guys and made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process.
One of the main reasons I accepted the position was for the opportunity for immediate impact not only the company but in my own person life and income. They offered me what no other company offered and it’s been held to. I’ve been working for the company for 7 months and I’ve seen significant income that no other job opportunity would offer.
It’s all about relationships. If you’re able to carry a conversation and make someone like you and make them comfortable then you’re going to be successful. Ben’s not going to reach out to you if he doesn’t know you’re going to be successful in this business. Most recruits that accept Ben’s offer and come work here see the same success with the company that I have, if not more.
I took the opportunity and I ran with it, and it’s been nothing but a blessing ever since. I’ve been able to pay off my student loans and then some, as far as my income goes, and I have an opportunity for promotion.
I’m looking forward to meeting the new recruits, and I know you won’t be disappointed if you accept this position.
